Refund & Cancellation Policy

This Refund & Cancellation Policy is formulated in accordance with the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020. By purchasing a subscription or accessing premium digital content on Semly, you legally agree to the terms outlined below.

1. Nature of Digital Goods

Semly provides access to digital services, including immediate access to proprietary "Semly Handwritten Notes" and immediate consumption of AI API credits. Because these are purely digital goods that are considered "consumed" the moment they are unlocked or accessed, standard return policies for physical goods do not apply.

2. Strict No-Refund Policy

Due to the immediate access nature of the digital content, all sales are final. We do not offer refunds, credits, or prorated billing for:

• Partial usage of a subscription term.
• Change of mind after a subscription has been purchased.
• Dissatisfaction with third-party Triple-Added Material (which is provided for free and is not part of the paid offering).
• Account termination due to violation of our Terms of Service (e.g., account sharing, unauthorized reproduction of copyrighted handwritten notes).

3. Exceptions & Chargebacks

We will only process a refund under the following highly specific circumstances, supported by documentary evidence:

• Duplicate Billing: If our payment gateway (Razorpay) accidentally charges you twice for the exact same transaction, we will refund the duplicate charge immediately upon verification.
• Complete Service Failure: If the premium Semly Handwritten Notes or AI services are entirely inaccessible for a continuous period of more than 72 hours due to Semly server failures (excluding user-side network issues or third-party API outages).

Fraudulent Chargebacks: Initiating a fraudulent chargeback through your bank after consuming digital content constitutes civil fraud. We aggressively dispute fraudulent chargebacks using platform usage logs and IP tracking as evidence.

4. Cancellations

You may cancel your recurring subscription at any time through your account settings. Cancellation ensures you will not be billed for the next cycle, but you will retain access to premium features until the end of your current paid billing period.
